04.01.13 Play

We like to play board games. Here's a few of our favorites...

Apples to Apples is our all time favorite right now. A laugh a minute with this game! I had a recent proud Mommy moment while playing this game. Well, first, you may need to know how to play...

In your hand you have seven "red apple" cards of different nouns like rain forest, pillow, school bus, or high school dance. You take turns as the judge in which you draw a "green apple" card that has an adjective on it like delicious, hard, important, or soft. You submit one of your red apple cards to the judge who then selects the card that best matches the noun. If you win, you collect the green apple card. The person who collects the most green apple cards is the winner of the game. The comparisons are what makes this game really fun to play.

My proud Mommy moment occurred while Krista was the judge. The adjective was something positive and simple like helpful or beautiful or flat. I can't really recall what it was exactly. I don't exactly remember all of the nouns that we played either. What stuck out was the one that she chose and what her reasoning was. As soon as she turned over the card with "Bacon" on it, that was her winning choice. Why? "It doesn't matter what the word is, Mom. Bacon always wins!"

Folks... I believe my work here is done.
