Photo a Day 1. Where You Stood

Here's an interesting fact. If you live to be 70 years old, then you have 613,200 hours to live. That's 365 days times 70 years times 24 hours. This is the time we have to laugh, love, learn and enjoy life. The quest for the "good life" must fit in this average amount of time. But we spend a lot of our time doing things we have no choice in.

Like waiting....

Ever wonder how much of your life is spent on stuff like waiting? Well wonder no more. I searched the internet today for some statistics
  • The average American will drive 798,000 miles in a lifetime. Over 9,100 hours are spent commuting to work. 4,050 hours are spent in stand still traffic, enough for 506 full nights of sleep.
  • An average person will watch 9 years worth of television including 2 million commercials.
  • The average American will read 20,748 hours in a lifetime - enough time to read Moby Dick 1,346 times.
  • The average person will sleep for 217,175 hours, enough time to watch every wide-released film ever made.
Americans spend more time watching television, listening to the radio, surfing the internet, and reading newspapers than anything else except breathing.

And how much time is spent waiting in or for an elevator? The amount of time is pretty startling. Lucky for me, my time today was only a few minutes.

What do you spend most of your time doing?
