In the corner of a room sits a chair,
It seems quite simple but this is where
I held my newborn baby boy
while he clutched my finger or a soft toy.
It knows all the words to his favorite book
without even giving it a second look.
We covered the cushions when my girl arrived.
So many sleepless nights, but we survived.
If this chair could talk, oh the stories it would tell
about my two little babies it knows so well.
We would rock and sing 'til they feel asleep.
Thank you, dear chair, for the memories you keep.
